Refers to violence directed against an individual because of their sex or gender identity, whether in the form of physical, verbal, emotional or sexual violence. Usually, women and members of the LGBTQ+ community are more vulnerable to this type of violence. An example of this is digital violence directed against women because of their sex and gender identity, as well as posts justifying femicides.
