Fake News

False and/or misleading news, stories, publications or visuals that aim to deceive and mislead the public by providing false, misleading and/or inaccurate information in order to influence political, social, cultural, economic and other aspects of life, or to achieve material and economic gains by certain companies or economic sectors. One example is the dissemination of false news claiming electoral fraud despite guarantees of integrity and careful oversight, or spreading false news claiming an international conspiracy during popular protests.
